Every Gift Supports Exceptional Care

At Hospice of the Northwest Foundation, we champion the power of community support to ensure comprehensive end-of-life care. Through the generosity of donors like you, we raise vital funds that enable Hospice of the Northwest to go above and beyond standard care across Skagit, Snohomish, San Juan, and Island Counties.

Your donations through the Foundation make possible a rich array of integrated services that bring comfort and peace – from gentle massage therapy and soothing aromatherapy to therapeutic music, energy work, and heartwarming pet visits. We also ensure that grief support remains available to families and their circles of support for 13 months after the loss of a loved one, recognizing that the journey of healing deserves ongoing care and compassion.

As the fundraising partner of the region’s largest non-profit hospice provider, we transform community generosity into enhanced quality of life for patients and their loved ones. When you give to Hospice of the Northwest Foundation, you become part of a dedicated community, ensuring that our neighbors have access to both essential hospice care and the additional services that make each moment more meaningful.

Join us in our mission to fund compassion and dignity every moment of life.

Skagit Wood Expo: A Community Legacy of Compassion

Founders Jahldi Merritt and River Mitchelle bring personal meaning to the Skagit Wood Expo & Marketplace through their continued support of Hospice of the Northwest Foundation as their beneficiary. Their choice reflects deep personal connections to hospice care that shaped their lives and community vision—a commitment demonstrated by three consecutive years of partnership.

River Mitchelle’s roots with the organization run deep—his mother was among the original massage therapists at Hospice of the Northwest, helping pioneer the integrative services program that distinguishes Hospice of the Northwest from alternatives in the region. Meanwhile, Jahldi Merritt’s connection formed at just 23 years old, when he witnessed firsthand the compassionate care his grandmother received during her battle with ALS.

Join us April 5-6 at the Skagit County Fairgrounds for this extraordinary event featuring live milling demonstrations, woodworking exhibitions, wood carving showcases, and a marketplace highlighting over 50 local artisans. The weekend promises a unique blend of craftsmanship, community spirit, and family-friendly activities, including an exciting live wood auction. Children will delight in the special egg hunt (ages 12 and under), while visitors of all ages can try their luck at bingo to win fun prizes!

The Skagit Wood Expo & Marketplace stands as a testament to community connection, artisanal excellence, and the enduring legacy of compassionate care.

Thank You to Our Sponsors

A special thank you goes out to this year’s Ports of Call sponsors. Their generous support underwrites the cost of the event so every dollar raised goes directly to patient care. We could not pull off an event of this magnitude without them!
