Hospice of the Northwest is excited to welcome Katie McDougall as the new Clinical Liaison. In this recently-created position, Katie will be cultivating positive relationships with referral sources across Hospice’s four-county service area. She will work with hospitals, clinics, skilled nursing facilities and other healthcare providers to facilitate smooth transitions to hospice care. This includes guiding goals-of-care discussions, providing informational consults, and conducting stakeholder education regarding the hospice philosophy of care.
Quality Care Wherever You Call Home
Katie began her career in healthcare nearly a decade ago as a sales representative for Lincare, a company that provides oxygen and respiratory durable medical equipment to patients in their homes. She most recently served as the Community Outreach Specialist for Signature Healthcare at Home in Skagit and Island counties, arranging for home health care services and providing education on the services home health can provide.
“We are fortunate to have Katie on our team,” says Bob Laws, Executive Director for Hospice of the Northwest. “She spent many years developing positive relationships in the healthcare field, ensuring patients had access to quality care wherever they call home. Her knowledge and know-how will be a great help to our patients and their loved ones as they begin their hospice journey.”
Passion for Patient Care
Throughout her career, Katie’s strongest motivation has been to provide excellent patient care. “My favorite part of my career has always been focused on patient care and customer service,” she said. “I’m so excited to be part of the Hospice team and support their focus on quality of life for patients and their loved ones.”
Katie lives in Burlington with her husband and their two golden retrievers. In her spare time, she enjoys riding ATVs, attending concerts, crafting, and spending time with family and friends.
